Dare to wear?. Sephora has created a makeup collection with Pantone Universe colour experts featuring the It Colour of the year PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald Green.

The thought of wearing bright emerald green makeup on your eyes sounds daunting. But at a recent event for the launch of the  Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year makeup collection, I learned that a little pop of colour goes a long way, and that yes, all women can wear it.

“Green is the most abundant hue in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Emerald, a perfectly balanced green, is a mix of warm and cool, which makes it so versatile and flattering to many skin tones. Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world.“

Inspired by the many facets of a gemstone, the new collection features eye shadows, eye liner, mascara, and nail polishes in the green shade, as well as lip glosses (in cute little square tubes) and blush, that complement the star shade.

Even if you’re feeling a bit intimidated by the shade, you can deck out your nails  in the perfect green. Or, if you’re still a bit weary, the collection also includes a nail ring that you can test and later easily remove.
