If you’re like me, you’re curious as to where Stranger Things storyline will venture next. After all, how many seasons does it take to rid those nasty alien-like monsters? To get a look inside what we can expect next, Netflix has released a teaser video that appears to set the scene at what’s in store in the town of Hawkins, Ind.
The 90-second video highlights the Starcourt Mall — “one of the finest shopping facilities in America and beyond.” The promo video is full of 1980s mall-culture references, from the vintage logo for retailer to Gap to a shoutout to the now-departed bookstore chain Waldenbooks and music retailer Sam Goody.
The teaser shows Steve Harrington, played by Joe Keery, working his job at Scoops Ahoy ice cream shop in the mall’s “state of the art food court.”
So what does all this allude to? The reference to mall developer Starcourt Industries may suggest some new challenges with a corporate giant that could cause some trouble to a town that is already shrouded in mystery and chaos thanks to that experimental lab and the notorious “upside down” alternate world.
