What was the Meghan Markle Royal Wedding Nail Polish? We have a good guess! The nail polish she wore on her wedding day just might be the Queen’s favourite colour.
Meghan Markle has to face a lot of new royal rules now that she’s married into the Royal family. And that includes her appearance and beauty routine.
While she’s chosen to show her laid-back style with her messy buns and low-cut dresses, when it comes to her makeup, specifically her nails, the new Duchess of Sussex is abiding by the Queen’s strictest rule.
What’s the Royal Nail Colour?
It’s no secret that the Queen loves Essie’s nail polish in “Ballet Slippers.” In fact, the Queen’s been using this very discreet translucent, pale pink nail colour since 1989. (Note: Ballet Slippers shade is one of the most popular nail colours on the market, selling about every two seconds and approximately over 80,000 bottle sold.)
“Ballet Slippers stands out from the rest because it’s such a classic sheer-pink shade that goes well with every skin-tone. The color application is also incredibly smooth and flawless and always results in a sophisticated and clean nail look,” says Carla Kay, Essie manicurist. “It’s a favorite among brides everywhere for these reasons.”
(Meghan was noted to wear “Ballet Slippers” nail colour in her and Harry’s Engagement Photos.)
Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, wore a mix of Bourjois “So Laque Nail Enamel in Rose Lounge” and Essie Nail Polish in “Allure” on her wedding day.
Why is this so important to Royal Protocol? The Queen considers unnatural nails and dark polish as vulgar. Well, OK!
Of course, chipped nails are also a major no-no!
It’s still unclear which exact shade Markle used on her wedding day, but we bet it’s from the bridal range from Essie.
Her BFF Jessica Mulroney, a bridal stylish, recently posted a photo of her favourite bridal shades from CND, who she is sponsored by.
